{"id":1833,"date":"2014-10-13T19:24:55","date_gmt":"2014-10-13T19:24:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gphrc.org\/?page_id=1833"},"modified":"2014-10-13T19:24:55","modified_gmt":"2014-10-13T19:24:55","slug":"palestinians-evicted","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/gphrc.org\/index.php\/reports\/member-reports-2008\/palestinians-evicted\/","title":{"rendered":"Palestinians  being evicted."},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong>Stoping Palestinians from being evicted.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Well the 2 Johns arrived a fortnight ago.\u00a0 What a wonderful time we all had.\u00a0 We broke fast nearly every night with our Palestinian friends.\u00a0 By that I mean it is Ramadan here and we do not eat or drink until approx 6pm Palestinian time.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>If I remember rightly near enough their first night here was spent sleeping on\u00a0a Palestinians courtyard to protect the Palestinians from being evicted.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>John is going to write a piece about it with pictures.\u00a0 Briefly the story is that the Israeli settlers broke into part of a Palestinian home and changed the locks when the Palestinian family were at hospital.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The Palestinians are now under threat of being evicted and need Internationals to sleep there 24 hours a day to prevent them from being evicted.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>I left the 2 of them there as there were enough people and made my way back to a lovely comfy bed in the Hostel.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>I chuckled to myself when I left them sleeping in the courtyard on a matress.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>It is terrible how the Palestinians need to depend on Internationals to safeguard them.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The American Consulate, believe it or not actually told us that if it was not for the Internationals presence the family would have been evicted.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>IF YOU NEED A REASON FOR COMING HERE, THAT IS IT.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>As I said before, you do not need to attend demonstrations\u00a0 or do anything you are not comfortable with there is a place for everyone.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>All this family require is for Internationals to stay there.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>A small thing to do to protect somebodys house.\u00a0 Could you imagine this happening to an Israeli family?\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 NEVER, NEVER.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Stoping Palestinians from being evicted.
