I saw a sight which really upset me
When I was coming back from Hebron, I saw a sight which really upset me. It is something we know about but when you actually witness it, it really comes home.
It was the delivery of the free rice and food for the people in the Camps. I saw the van pull up and scores of people were running and shoving to get their hands on the food. It is 2009, it is shameful that people have to live like this in a country where the other half sit in their pubs, their cafes, drinking beer and there are people who depend on these handouts. The food they give is barely edible as well and the Palestinians say it is hardly fit for human consumption. |
